First released in 2007, BioShock is a series of immersive first-person games developed by 2K and Irrational Games. Considered the spiritual successor to the 1994 game System Shock, there have been three releases as part of the BioShock series to date, the most recent being BioShock Infinite in 2013, with all three receiving critical acclaim. In late 2019, it was confirmed that a new BioShock game was planned, however no release date has thus far been confirmed.
